Intro

The Y1 are very robust "bullet"-shaped in-ears made of metal, which make a very high-quality appearance especially in the black version and admittedly look really good, even if this is not a criterion for me.

The cable is smooth and does not tend to knot due to its somewhat stiffer nature. Also on board is a one-button remote/mic.
The wearing comfort is very pleasant even though the Y1 are a bit heavier than their plastic competitors.

The isolation is above average, in both directions. Those who want to share their music with their environment would inevitably destroy their hearing, not only for the sake of volume, but more about that below. Basically there isn't much to criticize here, even if I have to include some of the sound characteristics in the everyday suitability, which is depressing the note here.

Handling

Yinyoo incorporates the Kinboofi KBF Y1 and now sells it under its own name. As long as this happens in agreement there is nothing reprehensible about it. The Y1 are averagely good in-ears, which can also impress musically, although they are very loud, but especially in the highs there are deficits.

Sound

The Y1 has a warm signature, with bright and tiring highs in the long run.

The bass is controlled, punchy and defined. It emphasizes the midbass and rolls off relatively fast around 50 Hz. It's not booming, but it slides a bit into the midrange, giving it extra warmth. However, it doesn't cover them and leaves them enough room to breathe and unfold.

The mids are prone to attack, which makes them sound very clear and hard. This makes them especially interesting for well mixed guitar music. Unfortunately, this aggressiveness also makes itself felt in a negative way, as it can be quite sharp with female voices. In general, they have a pleasant naturalness in voice reproduction, especially with men. They are energetic and dynamic, albeit a bit shrill, due to the boost in the upper range, which is not everyone's cup of tea.
The instrument separation is unexpectedly good, especially for a single dynamic driver in the price range.

The highs dampen the positive overall impression somewhat, but without being a complete disaster, on the contrary. They have a solid extension and can enrich the music with fine details. They also create an open space feeling, especially in depth. However, they exaggerate it with their bright, brash manner in some situations, which can quickly lead to fatigue and can be quite unpleasant. This of course diminishes their suitability for everyday use, as you never feel the need to turn up a favourite song, but rather the other way around. In addition, they sound a bit metallic. In order to achieve an optimal result you should use foamtips to keep the highs in control and above all keep an eye on the volume.

Outro

What speaks for the Y1 is a well controlled bass, clear, detailed mids, with an amazing separation for the price. On the other hand, in the best case, you should have an equalizer at hand to calm the treble down a bit. But then you get a very appealing listening experience in the price range. But there are also much better alternatives!

Legend

Haptic:

Here the processing plays a role and the usability of the scope of supply. Additionally the appearance, wearing comfort and robustness.

Value:
Here I evaluate for me subjectively the price/performance ratio - does not flow into the evaluation!

Z: No Brainer

A: money well spent

B: all right, you can do

C: gives better for less money

D: overpriced

E: collector's price

Daily life:
Here, I focus on the long-term audibility and whether I can hear it well out of the box. This is of course very subjective and therefore only a minimal deduction or bonus.
